Inclement Weather

New Inclement Weather Policy!

With the local changes in climate, this winter (2023-24) SEEC plans to change how it adjusts services during extreme weather. Instead of following the Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) closures, SEEC will consider the Montgomery County Weather Alerts and take a more local approach.

By 5 a.m., if not the night before extreme weather is anticipated, the Director of Services and Service Program Directors will make the decision whether or not to close Community Engagement services for the day. The SEEC website will be updated with this information. You may also call 301-576-9003 for a recorded message.

Supported Living services are always “open.”

Individuals in paid employment and internship positions (Employment Services and Project SEARCH) should follow their employers’ policy concerning weather closures, and SEEC staff scheduled to provide support will do so if travel is safe. SEEC staff will communicate with individuals about any changes to support schedules.

SEEC Office and Administrative Staff
SEEC’s Administrative office is open during inclement weather. Staff should contact their supervisor to arrange delayed arrival or working remotely.
